Working Project – 3D Environment Design/Game Characters Design.
For this major project, I would like to develop a 3D environment or game characters in great details and rendering using Unreal Engine 4 to plot the assets together. To show the details of the area, I will show it in a bird’s eye view in Unreal Engine 4 and edit the video in Adobe Premiere Pro.

For The Game Environment Design (Artefact), I will be focusing on the following categories:
- Modelling – Autodesk Maya
- Texturing – Photoshop
- Normal Maps/Baking – xNormal and nDo2
- Rendering – Unreal Engine 4 or Unity or CryEngine
To understand how the creator are manipulate with the viewer’s emotion and this is a good inspiration for the major project idea development. Therefore, I wanted to evaluate the artefact of how it communicate with the viewer in terms of colour, style and atmosphere.

Mine: Visual language – atmosphere (Doom)
- Lighting – dark
This creator has developed this 3D mine environment to showcase the story behind this artefact by using various of skills such as lighting to recreate a dark environment which links to doom as the environment looks as if lifeless and dirty. On the other hand, it demonstrate that it is functional in a sense of that there are workers in there to mining raw materials from the ground.

Office: Visual language – atmosphere (Busy)

- Busy environment
- Lighting – warm
- Organised area
This creator has developed this 3D office environment to showcase the story of functional, well organised and busy environment. A good lighting has used in a sense that it could be in a nice warn afternoon workplace. On the other hand, there are many office stationaries to indicate that it is a busy area.

Village: Visual language – atmosphere (Hope)
- Anime style
- Japanese’s building elements
- Sky raised – e.g. the clouds
- Clean – simple
- Spring like – hope
This creator has developed this 3D village environment to tell the story of a Japanese fantasy anime with bright and colourful texture materials. This is as if it was coming from an anime scenes and it gives the viewer to imaging there could be dragons and monsters in this mysterious village, and the other factor is that it bring spring like atmosphere which indicates hope.

Animals: Visual language – atmosphere (Hope)
- Pop art style
- Paper artwork alike
- Lighting – bright
This creator has developed these 3D characters to illustrate paper artwork alike and using pop art style colure textures. The environment has been pictured in a jungle atmosphere with bright lighting and this could indicate hope as all animals are living together peacefully. Also, these 3D characters are as if it was alive because of their emotion and detailed facial expression.
