Major Project: Research & Examples

Continuing working on the major project research development and discovering more examples in relation to 3D environment design. I discovered some examples are interactive 3D environment design which I think this is benefit to my research as these models allows me to rotate and zoom in and out in great details.

Example of 3D Environment Design (Shine Village)

Creator: Karim Abou Shousha

Shine Village: Visual language – atmosphere (Busy)

  • Fantasy style
  • Warm and welcome
  • A small town
  • Simple and pure
  • Functional

This creator has developed these interactive 3D environment and props in such way to bring out this is a functional area in a sense that farm workers are working hard to make a living out of it. From the environment, it tells that people are wearing simple and comfortable cloths. The level of details a very high as you can zoom in and inspect each props in terms of use of colour, material and patterns.

Example of 3D Environment Design (Factory)

Creator: Denis Spichkin

Factory: Visual language – atmosphere (Abandoned)

  • Used and old
  • Functional
  • Crime scene
  • Danger
  • Messy and untidy

The creator has developed these props and make it into a factory scene to bright the story behind the scene is that this could be a crime scene as there are fire and weapons around the area. The feel and look is danger and is a functional where people are make a living out of it before it was abandoned. The use of lighting is warm as this could be near nightfall in a sense that it could be unsafe due to the place is messy and untidy.

Example of 3D Content & In VR Platform (Village)

Creator: Eunyoung Gwon

Village: Visual language – atmosphere (Happy)

  • Colourful
  • Lighting – bright
  • Fantasy
  • A small town
  • Organised and clean

The creator has developed this small town in an interactive and VR enabled format where you can video it as if you were inside the town. The use of colour is very colourful and bright in a sense that this is a busy and lifelike environment. Also the scene is organised and clean to indicate that people who live there are taking care of the place.

Example of 3D Content & In VR Platform (Urban Neighborhood Scene)

Creator: Umer Memon

Urban Neighborhood Scene: Visual language – atmosphere (Busy)

  • Colourful
  • Busy urban city
  • Lighting – bright
  • Functional
  • Spring like – hope

The creator has developed this urban city in an interactive and VR enabled format where you can view each buildings in great details in terms of materials, patterns and lighting effects. The city demonstrate that this is a busy environment where a school bus taking children to school. The scene also indicate it is spring time as some of the trees are turning yellow which means hope. I really like this kind of interaction as you can rotate the entire city to view each props and the details are very lifelike as well.
